Unruhig ist unser Herz, bis es Ruhe findet in Gott
Herzlich Willkommen zu LebensLiturgien, Staffel 6, Thema „Zeit“. Das mit der Zeit ist eine seltsame Sache: sie umgibt uns überall und bleibt doch ungreifbar. Manchmal vergeht sie quälend langsam, dann wieder viel zu schnell. Wir hätten gerne mehr von ihr – und vergeuden sie doch allzu oft. In dieser Staffel wollen wir versuchen, genau das tiefer zu verstehen und zu lernen, auf gute Weise in der Zeit zu leben.
Zu Beginn meines Betens lege ich zur Seite, was mich beschäftigt
und lasse es ruhig werden in mir.
Ich nehme mir Zeit und atme langsam und bewusst.
Herr über Zeit und Ewigkeit: du bist hier. Jetzt.
Meine Zeit steht in deinen Händen.
Alles hat seine Zeit. Das gilt für alles, was auf der Erde geschieht.
Neues Leben hat seine Zeit und Sterben hat seine Zeit.
Kranksein hat seine Zeit und Gesundsein hat seine Zeit.
Weinen und Klage haben ihre Zeit, aber auch Jubel, Leichtigkeit und Freude.
Konflikte und Kriege haben ihre Zeit, aber auch Versöhnung und Friede.
Es gibt eine Zeit für Umarmung und Liebe, und eine Zeit für Loslassen und Sich-Trennen.
Es gibt eine Zeit für Rush-Hour, Schnelligkeit und Zeitdruck, und eine Zeit für Ruhe, Durchatmen und Pausen.
Alles hat Gott so eingerichtet, dass es schön ist zu seiner Zeit – sogar die Ewigkeit hat Gott dem Menschen ins Herz gelegt.
Nur dass der Mensch nicht in der Lage ist, das Werk Gottes zu begreifen: er durchschaut weder, wo es beginnt, noch wo es endet.

Wie wird der Sabbat (also ein wirklich freier Tag pro Woche, den wir so füllen, dass er unserer Seele und den Menschen um uns gut tut) zu einem Tag echter Ruhe?
Die Hauptzutat ist, dass wir Zeit und Raum für Gott schaffen und uns ihm zuwenden, ihm hinhalten, ihn suchen: in Stille, Worten, Liedern, Gemeinschaft.
Denn unser Leben ist in der Tiefe von einem beständigen Verlangen getrieben, von Wünschen und Sehnsüchten, die nie ganz gestillt werden können. John Mark Comer schreibt: „Thomas von Aquin stellte einmal die Frage: Was würde unser Verlangen befriedigen? Was braucht es, um sich zufrieden zu fühlen? Die Antwort, die er gab, lautete: Alles. Wir müssten alles und jeden erleben (…), um uns zufrieden zu fühlen. In jedem Restaurant essen. In jedes Land, jede Stadt, an jeden exotischen Ort reisen. Jedes Naturwunder erleben. Mit jedem Partner, den wir uns wünschen, ins Bett gehen. Jeden Preis gewinnen. An die Spitze jeder Branche aufsteigen. Jeden Gegenstand auf der Welt besitzen.“
Dann also würde unser Verlangen endlich an ein Ende kommen. Vielleicht. Nur wir merken natürlich: das geht nicht. Da kommen uns unsere Grenzen in die Quere: Zeit und Raum und Kraft und Sinne. Wir werden unser Verlangen auf diese Weise niemals stillen können.
Nur: warum haben wir es dann, dieses Verlangen? Ist das eine sündhafte Fehlfunktion, ein tiefer Defekt, den wir mit uns herumtragen?
Die christliche Tradition ist überzeugt: Nein, dieses von den Dingen der Welt letztlich unstillbare Verlangen zeigt, dass wir auf etwas Größeres, oder besser: auf jemand Größeren hin geschaffen wurden. Ein Abendgebet des alten Kirchenvaters Augustinus beginnt mit den Worten: „Herr, du hast uns geschaffen und unruhig ist unser Herz, bis es Ruhe findet in dir.“ Wirkliche Herzensruhe finden wir nur und erst in der Hinwendung zu Gott. Gott hat uns zu sich hin geschaffen, so dass in uns ein tiefes Sehnen wohnt.
Als Jesus nach dem Wichtigsten im Leben gefragt wird, zitiert er als Erstes dieses Gebot aus dem 5. Buch Mose:
Höre, Israel! Der Herr ist unser Gott, der Herr allein. Darum sollst Du den Herrn, deinen Gott, lieben von ganzem Herzen, mit ganzer Seele und mit all deiner Kraft. Diese Worte, die ich dir heute gebiete, sollen auf deinem Herzen geschrieben stehen. Du sollst sie deinen Kindern einprägen und dir immer wieder vorsagen – zu Hause und auf Reisen, wenn du erwachst und wenn du dich schlafen legst.

Dieses Gebot ist nicht einfach nur ein Gebot. Es ist eine Wirklichkeitsbeschreibung dessen, was wir Menschen brauchen, wie und woraufhin wir erschaffen wurden und wo unser Herz allein wirklich Ruhe findet.
In der Stille komme ich mit Gott ins Gespräch, wie es um meine Liebe zu ihm aktuell bestellt ist.
Herr meiner Stunden und meiner Jahre, du hast mir viel Zeit gegeben.
Sie liegt hinter mir und sie liegt vor mir. Sie war mein und sie wird mein, und ich habe sie von dir.
Ich danke dir für jeden Schlag der Uhr und für jeden Morgen, den ich sehe.
Ich bitte dich nicht, mir mehr Zeit zu geben. Ich bitte dich aber um Weisheit und Willenskraft, dass ich meine Tage gut lebe.
Lehre mich, ein wenig Zeit freizuhalten von Ablenkung und Pflichten: ein wenig für Stille und Gebet, ein wenig für das Spiel, ein wenig für die Menschen um mich, die meine Liebe und meine Aufmerksamkeit brauchen.
Ich bitte dich um Sorgfalt, dass ich meine Zeit nicht töte, nicht vertreibe, nicht verderbe.
Jede Stunde ist wie ein Streifen Land. Ich möchte ihn aufreißen mit dem Pflug und Liebe hineinwerfen, damit Frucht wächst. Segne du meinen Tag.
